In Adana, Hatice Sabahi (75) lost her balance and fell out of the open door of the private public bus she had boarded on her way back from the hospital while she was standing up to pay her fare.
Sabahi, who was seriously injured and had been fighting for her life for 4 days, passed away yesterday evening.
While Sabahi was laid to rest, the driver Vedat K., who had been released under judicial control following the incident, was taken back into custody today and referred to the courthouse.
It was learned that in his statement, the driver Vedat K. said, "I was going 20-30 kilometers per hour. I didn't have the chance to close the door because I had just started moving. My only fault in the accident is that the door was open. I stopped immediately and called 112."
